Our Heritage of Restoration
With over 30 years of roofing experience, Preservation Slate and Tile has dedicated itself to the meticulous restoration of historic structures. We employ the same time tested methods and materials used by roofers for hundreds of years to restore your roof.
Our combination of research on and application of traditional installation and repair methods for slate, tile, and copper roofs ensures that your roof will be preserved for future generations. The original craftsmen that installed your roof intended your roof to last generations. They employed techniques that they knew would out last themselves by decades. We employ the same methods those craftsmen did to ensure that your restoration last for generations as well.
Our preservation standards extend beyond the techniques we use, but also to the materials we install. We prioritize historically accurate materials and finishes, ensuring that every restoration project reflects the heritage of the home it inhabits through meticulous attention to detail and artisanal craftsmanship. Our restorations match your original roof because we use qenuine natural slate mined from the same quarries in Vermont, Pennsylvania, New York, Maine, and Canada that were used for your roof. We also work with the best American clay companies to reproduce exact reproductions of discontinued and hard to find clay tile components.
When faced with upgrading historic homes to modern code requirements, we integrate modern materials and techniques in such a way that we can meet code requirements without altering the original aesthetic of your roof and ensuring that the code upgrades will last as long as the original roof was intended to.
